Scholarships available for photojournalism masterclass

Photojournalists and documentary filmmakers are invited to participate in this six-month training.

MeMo, a digital magazine based in Italy, is organizing its first Masterclass, a mentorship program that aims to develop personal projects in photojournalism and videodocumentary from conception to promotion.

The MeMo Masterclass consists of three stages: a traineeship Nov. 2 to 4 at the MeMo Factory in Turin, Italy; an online component in which MeMo tutors will follow and edit participants’ work in progress between December 2016 and April 2017 via Skype; and a post-production workshop in May 2017 in Barcelona, Spain.

The cost is EUR1,000 (US$1,108). There are five scholarships to cover the program’s fees for applicants living in conflict zones, as well as streaming access for the traineeships in Italy and Spain.

The deadline is Aug. 31.
